Every kitchen has that one pan — the one that met the flame for a little too long. Before you think about replacing it, try this simple rescue routine.

Step 1: Fill the pan with hot water until the burnt area is covered, add two spoons of baking soda, and let it simmer on low heat for five minutes. The burnt layer will start lifting at the edges.

Step 2: Pour the water out and, while the pan is still warm (not hot), scrub in small circles with a Seinora Heavy Duty Scour Pad or the Steel Spiral Scrubber for stainless steel and iron cookware. For non-stick pans, always switch to the Non-Scratch Scrub Sponge instead.

Step 3: Rinse, and repeat the scrub on any stubborn patches. Finish by washing with regular dish soap and drying immediately to prevent water marks.

Pro tip: never scrub a hot pan straight off the stove — the sudden temperature change can warp the base. Let it cool to warm first.
